Edit: caught the typo before it got pointed out. Yay for me.

Worf’s line comes off a bit funny when you remember he wore a red uniform for the first season of TNG. (Anyone remember what his role was before Tasha died? He hung out at the back of the bridge, but I wasn’t sure what he was supposed to be doing.)

This made me wonder if Worf was ever a Captain, and apparently he became Captain of the E after Picard was promoted to Admiral! I hope he treated his subordinates better than he did his son.

O’Brien did a lot of the heavy lifting in shaping Worf as a leader and a more well rounded person. Confronted him when he was insensitive toward a dying comrade and in managing subordinates on the Defiant. Not to take away from all that Jadzia gave him as well.

That time when Data dressed him down for publicly questioning his orders probably made an impression, too.

Gambit, Part 2. An excellent point you brought up.

DATA: Dismissed. Mister Worf, I am sorry if I have ended our friendship.

WORF: Sir, it is I who has jeopardised our friendship, not you. If you will overlook this incident, I would like to continue to consider you my friend.

DATA: I would like that as well.

          WORF: Thank you, sir.

Data really didn’t give himself enough credit when it came to wanting to be more human (pre-emotion chip). Can androids have imposter syndrome?

“And remember, my sentimental friend, that a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.”
