    IMO a eInk / transflective display isn’t as sexy, but energy-wise they make so much sense to use in a watcg

      I’m not sure you’d want to refresh e-ink every minute of every day, for the life of the device. Even with partial refresh, I have to imagine that would seriously reduce the lifespan.

        My Garmin Forerunner 945 is now 3 and half years old and have logged over 12,000km+ of activities and still running fine. Also one of my running friend has a Forerunner released in 2011 still running strong in 2023, although with reduced battery life. He has ran over 20+ marathon with this watch. Usually in these watches the NAND flash wear out before e-ink.

          Ah, good to know. I didn’t know there’d been e-ink watches before, but I’ve seen a lot of concern about constant refreshes burning out screens.
