Some people hate chairs, it hurts spine and inhibits blood circulation in legs. Some people prefer squatting. Some people prefer sitting on bouncy big round ball.

Some people prefer standing. Some people prefer moving around. Some people prefer laying down with legs propped up.

We are humans. Not robots in a sardine can.

I do like the idea for alternate options for seating.

Though some public places don’t even have enough seating to begin with.
I don’t think someone who has to use a walking stick and has a bad back would appreciate going into a shop for the only seats to be display only.

or at least I wish I could carry my big giant bouncy ball with me everywhere I go and nobody would think that was weird. I took it with me to school for a whole semester and the first day people were surprised and then they admired & respected the out-of-the-box approach I took for my comfort & health & ergonomics.

And sometimes when I get caught standing in a line, and I’m So uncomfortable and fatigued standing and my back hurts, not shy and DGAF, I drop into a comfortable squat and I am so happy down here.

But most of the time I do worry that people would be uncomfortable with me down there in a squat because unless I turn to the side, my head is basically in line with people’s butts & crotches LOL But I’m a dainty woman and I get away with a lot of weird yoga things everywhere.

My point is, the venues don’t necessarily need to provide the alternate seating options, we could provide our own, but I would like it to be socially acceptable to choose any resting position we prefer, because there are so many other healthier options besides standing and sitting. I’d rather do a million other things than stand or sit.

take a year of yoga classes at least three times a week and everyone will discover awhole new world of ergonomics that open up your mind & body & wellness.
