  • I’m white af, but, as an American, I didn’t get treated as rudely anywhere else in Germany than Berlin. Still had a great time overall in the city, but, not really in a rush to go back.

My friend and I were standing at a bar mulling over the menu, just kind of murming to one another over what drinks we wanted while we were waiting for the bartender to finish up with his other customers. It wasn’t busy, but he was attending to other people. When he was finally done, he approached us and I said “Hi how are you?” with a smile. He didn’t say a single word to us, just took the menus from in front of us and put them on the back shelf, and then turned away.

So we left. Our money clearly wasn’t good enough there, and we spent it in another bar across the alleyway instead.

  • Meh, this isn’t really dystopian imo, they provide a really good service. They will provide limited mental health/crisis counseling to you (regardless of faith/lack therof), with no written documentation. Unless you’re telling them you plan to actively hurt yourself or someone else, then they’re 100% confidential.

The military has gotten better in recent years about this, but when I was a young Airman 15 years ago, it was drilled into our heads that you DO NOT go to Mental Health for ANY reason if you wanted to stay in and keep your career. It was viewed as an instant career killer if you went back then.So Chaplains became the “go between” in a lot of instances. Because there was no record.

I used them 3 or 4 times before I finally bit the bullet and went to Mental Health back in December. 3 of the 4 Chaplains I saw were awesome and just listened to my anxieties and then talked me down as to how unlikely they were to pass. The fourth did ask me if he could pray for me at the end, and I’m sure I could have said no, but I was more like “Sure, I guess.” So he said some kind of generic prayer, handed me a pocket bible and sent me on my way. He wasn’t bad, still listened to my issue, but I could see someone who is very uncomfortable with prayer being too nervous/anxious to say “no” if they didn’t really want it.

  • Man I feel this. I’ve been obsessed with Cooking Diary since May of last year.

Just this morning, I popped awake, threw on some YT drama videos for background noise, and just played CD for like an hour and a half before I was like “Time to be productive”. Good easy start to a Sunday.

That being said, I saw further down you try not to spend money on the mobile games. I went through a phase in 2019/2020 where I was fucking massively into a Chinese dating Sim game called “Mr Love Queens Choice.” I spent $850 over the course of 2 years. It was a great game and I had a ton of fun, but there was a point where I crossed into a bonus tier that you could only get to by spending a certain dollar amount. And then I was like “Oh. Oh no boo boo what is you doin’?!”.

  • Meh, I’m a M-F daily coffee buyer here. My husband will only drink coffee if we’re at breakfast somewhere, and it’s just him and I at the house.

I drink plain black gas station coffee though, so my costs are likely negligible to others who prefer more…“fancy” varieties. I pay $1.16 for 20 Oz.

Dutch Bros is giving Starbucks a run for their money here in Texas. Both franchises are PACKED every time I drive past, regardless of time of day. Just…insane drive thru lines. Never had DBs, but I’ve heard it’s decent.
