  • Can the woman choose which kind of bear?

Is it a black bear or polar bear? What kind of bear are we talking about here? If she can choose the bear, can she also choose the man?

Is it random bear and random man? Random bear gives a rather high chance of polar bear. Random man gives a rather low chance of violent man.

We need a random bear man simulator to run the data. We deserve answers!

I don’t care for the debate. I care for statistics.

  • In Norway people are adviced to get fucked for pointing out the record profits of the grocery cartel. We have 3 chains running the same wares for similar prices. The main fruit importer is owned by two of the chains.

The chains are NorgesGruppen, Reitan-gruppen and Coop. That’s it. Custom barriers are preventing any competition from establishing.

Our worst wares are of decent quality, but our best wares are of poor quality compared to other European states.

We are now the worst country on the happiness index in Scandinavia.

  • You often have the same relation to the kid in Uganda and the kid in your hometown. But they are still different.

This comic is probably made by someone American. They made it for a target audience. That’s why it’s specified. Making the message more targeted is an effective tool. It’s called pathos.

Believing people on the left care for everyone on the planet equally while people on the right only care for the nation they tax to is a strange take.

You’re allowed to be proud of your country or people without being a q-anon nuthead nazi.

  • Being a pedestrian in Amsterdam can be pretty bad. Dutch on bikes are insane. No slowing down is allowed. The bike might be rigged like the bus in Speed or whatever. Ready to explode.

People on heavy e-bikes are riding 25km/h over pedestrian crossings with poor visibility.

It is dangerous, and should be treated as such.

Cars in Amsterdam is a much smaller consern than bikes. Really.

Been there. Beautiful city. Terrible biking culture. The Dutch know. They reference it occasionally.

So. In Norway we have this great system for returning used bottles for cash. We get 0.2$ for a 0.5 liter bottle. People are returning the bottle with the cap on. Seeing bottle caps laying around isn’t a thing.

Instead of attaching the cap to the bottle. Make a return system for the bottles. People are not systematically seperating the bottle and the cap as the cap keeps the sugary residue left inside the bottle in place instead of in the bag you carry them with to the store for returning them for that sweet cash.

Attaching the cap is a solution looking for a problem.

Having travelled a lot around in Europe I have never seen bottle caps laying the street alone. People throw them together or not at all.

This is bureaucracy time spent on caps instead of actual problems. So they could focus on actual issues instead of this shit. It’s a testament to how they blame every issue on random people instead of the industries inventing new ways to fuck up any ecosystem.

    I’m so fucking tired.

It’s estimated the fishing industry is losing around 400 metric tonnes of fishing gear into Norwegian waters every year.

Now we are punished for this by attaching the stupid caps to the bottles. Why are we not able to fix problems in this society hellbent for self destruction?

Why are every problem pushed down on the working class just wanting to enjoy a soda in this capitalistic hellscape.

  • I work in the industry and see how the industry treat it’s workers, climate and environment.

For me it’s more important to future proof our species then feeding some capitalist hedgefund dollars.

Flagging the ships to countries with proper societal structures with military defence and laws is beneficial for everyone except the sharks. Lemmy is pretty anti-capitalist untill their cheap Chinese electronics are under threat.

IMO has codes to better the conditions at sea with SOLAS, MARPOL and MLC. With a foot inside the industry you are a fool to see these regulations are far from enough.

The regular philipine seaman is onboard 9 months on a single contract, and has to get a new contract for the next time. The regular western seafarer has a 1/1 rotation with an employment contract with a shipping company.

More expensive shipping forces less shipping. Which might re-establish local industries. Europe made much of its stuff before. Now it’s moved to cheap countries in the east. Norway sends fish to china for processing, it gets sent back and sold in Norway. This is insane to me.

Norway has 1 shoe maker left. Other Norwegian shoemakers has their head office in Norway, but production is moved to Asia.
