The developer, TalkLittle, has made another app but it’s for Tildes instead of Lemmy or Kbin. It’s invite -only so quite low population even compared to Fediverse instances. Plus iirc it’s only text. No images, no video, etc
Yeah that’s just pre-registration – so you’ll get it automatically when the first release drops.
It gets slightly annoying when you want to use a non-recommended extension (like RES). You either need to swap to Nightly or something like Fennec (on F-Droid). Then you must curate your own collection of extensions on addons.mozilla.org and finally set your browser to pull from that collection.
I noticed the YouTube Addon for Kodi has started throwing errors about age restricted videos not being available outside of official YouTube apps or the site itself.
One of the legal advice subs – I can’t remember which – was going forward requiring post approval from mods because they value community safety. But as they are unpaid volunteers they estimate it could take up to 14 days for post approval.

They also occaisionally get temporary channels with some of the newer shows. I recall Picard was on there not too long ago. SNW season 1 was also on Youtube, not sure if it’s still up or if it was only in the run-up to season 2. Paramount+ also gives out free monthly trial codes like candy – but you have to input a CC and remember to cancel.
I agree it’s too much, but on the other hand the potential user base for the app is much lower than previously with Reddit. So I can understand it, even if I don’t like it.
