It also infuriates me if the use ‘improving the optimum’ or claim something is optimal without the proof, for example ‘this is the optimal configuration of a production system’ after a comparison of 2–3 different variants.

Thank you! I don’t get why they use such weird measurements. Why not use %?
Generally one of the best tech channels!
Also the source is a well known source of fake news, controlled by Qatar, owned by a Palestinian. Definitely don’t trust it, until a reliable source confirms this.
MEE is anything, but ‘reputable’. Its a Hamas outlet financed by Qatar, run by a Palestinian, with a vast history of spreading fakenews. Just read the Wikipedia entry to get a glimpse or this article for a more in-depth review: https://medium.com/@ibrahimalkhamis/the-middle-east-eye-a-case-of-manufacturing-news-6e068ccf012
Might be different in other countries, but in Germany its only used by them.
In what country do you live? I live in Germany and not even iPhone users use iMessage.
Germany uses Whatsapp and Signal. Whatsapp for the older generation, Signal for the younger ones. But almost everyone has both. Telegram is a niche messenger for conspiracy theorists and alt-righters, because it’s russian and those people love Russia.
Weird article. They present a 3+ years road map for upcoming chips but at the same time call that ‘life support’. Something doesn’t add up.
Pixel?
And there you are in one of the culture wars discussions we currently have in Germany. While progressives are using gendered nouns specificing which genders you are referring too (for example: Tänzerinnen and Tänzer – often abbreviated Tänzer*innen – if you had female and male dancers, Tänzerinnen if only female and Tänzer if only male), conservatives want to keep the old tradition of making a group of people male once a single male is included.
This has real world implications, though. There are jobs which are often gendered female – typically lower paid jobs like kindergarden teacher or nurse – and others are typically gendered male, like engineer or politican. There have been a couple studies with children where children were asked if their could think of taking a specified job. And if the job gender matched their gender, they were more likely to see themselves suitable for that job. And if you now remember that engineers are typically referred to as male and nurses are typically referred as female, this is one expiation on why Germany has one of the largest uncorrected gender pay gaps in Europe.
Maybe for 2FA. But for messaging with friends and colleagues? Everyone uses Signal, Whatsapp or telegram.
Its not open source, but if you really want to you can use an offline version. In this case no data gets shared at all.
I use Typewise. A swiss company, by far the best keyboard layout and they don’t use any data from what you type.
I have the P8 pro with 4G. And I barely drop below 40 % during the day. And that with plenty of screen on time.
Thats a complete arbitrary point in time. Why that one and not one hundred years earlier during the ottoman empire?
The 20 % deposit has to be taken into the calculation as well.
You are completly neglecting insurance.
You are negleticing maintanance.
You are comparing two different properties.
This only talks about rent. And when rent increases, so does the value of the property, because you can get more money as rents are higher.
If you now consider the amount of work you have to invest into owning property and the associated risk of owning a house or flat, in an ideal market its simply not possible.
And while the housing market is imperfect due to the high burden for entrance, I have never seen a proper calculation where mortage, insurance and maintanance comes out lower than renting.
And, as a matter of fact, it doesnt even in your own example Sydney: https://www.smh.com.au/money/saving/as-costs-soar-is-it-cheaper-to-rent-or-buy-20230407-p5cywp.html
My mortgage is cheaper than Rest
That doesn’t make any sense. Unless the market at your country is completly broken, that simply does not happen.
10 % would mean that more than 9 of 10 research projects need to succeed. The reality is closer to 0.5 of 10, which would require a profit of 2000 % of R&D. Rules like that would stop private funded research. Which is something we can debate, but it should be noted that this would just mean, that countries need to fund medical research, which is currently 270 billion per year, which is 20 % of the US budget. If you want to stop private medical research, you need to raise taxes – plain and simple.
