Assuming for a minute that this is 100% true, for conversation’s sake.

Does that matter? We have here a company with a reputation that is massively hurt by issues in their aircraft and inability to keep a decent quality control, and they think the best way forward is to announce the whole world they’re flying a space mission with a leaky spacecraft? Are they actively trying to tank their reputation even further?

And because of the logarithmic nature of decibels, 6 dB louder approximately means twice as loud. So these claimants are saying the airpods reached about 700 times higher volume than they can.

So what they’re saying is somehow every other smartwatch company can engineer not only a way to solve the technical limitations, but a full smartwatch in under three years, while one of the most powerful tech companies somehow thought “naah, connecting to android is a lot more difficult than a self driving car or a VR headset with an integrated computer and video passthrough, we better shelve that idea”.

I sold my gaming PC and replaced it with a Steam Deck. Yes - after trying stadia (and then buying a switch), graphics don’t scratch my itch nearly as much as portability. I already spend too much time sitting at a desk at work, when I am playing to relax I prefer being on a couch, bed, kitchen, garden, or wherever I happen to feel like, but definitely not tied to a desk.

The UK measures alcohol in units to track total amount consumption, as it’s not easy to track with percentage in volume. A unit is 10 ml of pure alcohol, and cans/bottles/etc have the total units printed. That way it’s supposed to be easier to track how much alcohol you drink e.g. if you drink a beer, then a wine - now that’s 4 units.

I’m not British so I’m not used to units, but at least that’s the theory.

I always thought it was because 440ml is a round number when you convert it from metric to medieval units (not a pint though, which is 568ml), but a quick google shows me there’s another reason:

Oh I had never thought of this or come across this concept! That’s a really elegant concept. Of course, in a transaction you’re putting in more effort than the money. The time it takes you to go through the purchase, the research, the cost of opportunity of that money… meaning those have to be covered in the cost of the transaction, and therefore the goods must be cheaper than the perceived value by those amounts.

Unlike the Switch, which drains 70% of the battery in 3 days of standby. Every time I pick it up I have to charge it, it feels like such a chore that the SD has taken its place completely.

One of my minis too… I’ve replaced it with a Harman Kardon Citation One. Overkill? Yes, but it’s not Google’s and they’re quite cheap on eBay. Sony makes decent alternatives too.

This doesn’t necessarily apply to multiplayer games though: the free-to-play part of the playerbase is there to pad the numbers and ensure queues are short (if it’s a match based game), cities are lively (if it’s a MMORPG), etc.

If the developer can’t appeal to those too, then you’re left with a ghost town of a game that can’t appeal to the whales either.

Unfortunately in the 2020s you don’t even own the games you have the physical media for.

Edit: as a more serious answer, Linux might be a better bet than Windows for playing windows games (ironically), either through Proton or Wine.

Brother still can’t do inkjet right? I read somewhere there’s a big patent that lets only a select few companies be able to sell inkjet printers.

I used to have a laser printer, and they’re great for documents, but now what I print most are photos, and for that pigment-based inks rock.

I have an Epson printer but even if they’re nowhere near as bad as HP, Epson also has some weird shit from time to time.

While I think capitalism is shit, I do believe in supply and demand. I was recently getting zero bites on my desktop computer, then lowered the listing price by 50% in the auction and sold it in a week at 80% of the original listing price.

It turns out the price I thought was fair, didn’t meet the market and there were exactly zero people interested in buying it at that price. That’s what’s happening to you sadly.

Think of it this way: at your current price you get no bites. If you were to sell it at $50 people would buy it immediately. Now you have to find a happy medium both you and buyers are happy with.

Yeah, more horsepower can’t beat being able to play from an airplane!

It’s the perfect balance, I used to love my switch but this is a lot better while retaining 90% of the portability. And the key thing - it’s not better only in terms of performance (graphics), but in terms of compatibility: it will take most of the games available on switch, either natively as pc versions or through emulation. But also a truly vast array that goes from Sega’s sonic adventure to cyberpunk2077 or Starfield. It’s awesome.
