Dink, dink. Dink dink dink dink, dink!
Curious as to why you were banned as I enjoy your comic. We were just talking about your comic and the Garfield - Garfield strip in the FarSide sub yesterday.
That said, yesterday I coincidentally deleted my other account on lemmy.ml as I don’t really like the vibe there. Maybe that vibe had something to do with your ban. Looking forward to seeing more of your work still.
Yes, and one of the reasons I want to keep it going. It’s an old Fujitsu and has a cool form factor (another reason). I recycled about a dozen laptops a few months back, but could not bear to see this one go. It came with XP, but I don’t care to reload that at all. Am also downloading older versions of Slack to see if they’ll work.
I have an old laptop with a Transmeta Crusoe CPU. Can anyone recommend a distro that will work on it? I’ll download this one and give it a shot too.
Yes, I was looking at the cast and noted Harvey Korman and Mark Blankfield as well. I am pumped to watch it and I think I’ll like it more than the rating gives it credit for. Thanks for the reference!!
I love Mel Brooks, but I can’t believe I missed that one. Now I have to see it even if IMDB has a fairly low rating on it.
It is a “zero-turn” mower. Best suited for larger lawns as they can cover large areas more easily. And of course they are more nimble.
They have a larger cutting area than lawn-tractors, but smaller than brush-hog style mowers that attach to the PTO connection on a tractor. We have all three which get used for different scenarios.
I’d rather that video not be a part of this sub. I’d like to not deal with youtube and it’s ad-driven ecosphere. My preference is to cleanly see an image and appreciate that. In my opinion, “traditional” art is not video-based. Others may disagree, but I just wanted to state my thoughts.
Edit: I also want to add that while I don’t particularly care to see video-based art here, I am not so inflexible as to never allow some sort of exceptions in my thinking. Having separate subs for video art (or other art) means smaller and smaller communities as we seek accommodations for all our interests. Instead, perhaps we can have one day of the week where video or other arguably legitimate “traditional” art are seen or discussed (documentaries, etc). In this way we can embrace the art (or discussions about art) that does not fall within the boundaries already set here.
I think it is important to be inclusive with a topic such as this as everyone’s conception of “traditional” art can be as different as the art itself.
I have a friend who makes sweetened bacon. It is delicious, but that’s the only way I’d eat it. Not this garbage.
We are now in S04 of DS9 (first time) and just watched the “Our Man Bashir” episode. What a fun one. I would think they enjoyed playing these crazy roles every now and then. I am also enjoying Quark’s brother Rom more and more as they further reveal his character.
I am very much enjoying spotting these actors that show up.
Did you butcher that on purpose? lol
“Live long and prosper!”
Volume issues aside, I find that the music is far better in TOS. I am working through DS9 and the soundtrack is so pale and bland. It’s really the worst element of the show, but I like nearly every other bit of it. They just don’t focus on it at all.
For example, the fight music in the original amps the viewer up, while in DS9 it is barely noticeable. I prefer TOS in that regard.
We now pull the toys from the pups once they’ve become small enough to be swallowed. We’ve had one or two ER visits for that.
Or “iced dessert”. <25% milkfat is the line, I think.

They break the styrofoam down right there and make new material. I am not sure if they do everything on premise, but you can see it happening right there with some of it.
I can’t not think about Clint Howard saying that word when I hear it:
