HP by chance? Had this happen to a 360 HP laptop (and I almost never used that functionality!), repaired by replacing the backside of screen where it screws in. This of course required disassembling the whole damn laptop. I was horrified by how cheap it was and now have a ThinkPad T480.
True, kind of silly you have to install an extension because the default gnome weather won’t just let you use open weather.
It doesn’t use open weather unfortunately. It uses the Norwegian Meteorology Institute and their weather prediction is poor/entirely inaccurate for much of the world. I do wish open weather was an option especially since it’s easy to get your own weather api key.
Agree, the old windows blue screen would sear your retinas, could definitely be tuned down a bit.
You could use the android studio flatpak, install flatseal to ensure the app doesn’t have permissions you don’t want.
Zone launcher. You get to keep your regular launcher.
You may have to look into figuring out which driver Linux is using for your touchscreen then blacklist that module so that it doesn’t load anymore.

I have been taking the flatpak route as well lately where applicable. Sure many people see flatpak as bloat, but very few things are installed as system apps and my $HOME stays cleaner. There’s also this gem https://github.com/valvesoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/3671. I want as few things as possible to have rwx to my home dirs.

Yea no kidding. Gnome is pronounced Guhnome, Mate DE is pronounced Matay, Open Suse is susuh not soos, and Qt is to be pronounced as “cute” instead of just… Q-T. Many such cases.
I often get myself into a position where I have 50+ tabs open, but then I get annoyed with all the damn tabs and go on a purge… furiously clicking X on tabs down the line until I have it down to something manageable. This happens every couple of days. I wish there was a setting where one had the option of limiting themselves to x amount of tabs and if you hit the limit you know it’s time for a purge. I’ve seen where chromium browsers also have tab groups… I’m not sure if that helps for tab hoarding, I guess it could be more organized that way, but also sounds like it just enables more tab hoarding.
I would think that some of these problems with RDP and monitors might be caused by running Wayland with an Nvidia GPU. I’m pretty sure both Ubuntu and Fedora use Wayland out of the box by default. Best off using Xorg until Nvidia sorts their shit.
Did you try simply mounting /dev/sdc1 without the extra arguments? You also need to make a mount folder in /mnt, so
sudo mkdir /mnt/mydrive
Then
sudo mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt/mydrive
I would imagine you have to pay it off first then contact the carrier about unlocking.
Here to second this. The s5e is still a beast and feels even more amazing on lineage. They can be had for less than $200 on ebay/swappa as refurbs or lightly used. Still a bit more of a pain to install lineage on inititally than it is for some other devices (at least in comparison to my oneplus), completely worth freeing it from the shackles of Samsung though.
I remember at one point when I was younger and newer to computers I was typing a document for school and being driven nuts by the damn insert key. Like I had zero clue as to why everything I was typing was just being overwritten every time I needed to go back and change something. I still think the insert key is absolutey evil!
