Thank you, that was a really good explanation!

I use Mull for Android and find it a bit more performant than vanilla Firefox.
Not OP, but I copy my reply from the last time someone asked an opinion on kagi:
I use it, but to be honest I did not do a comprehensive comparison. I like it mostly for the fine grained website control. For work and some personal stuff I often look for code and can push websites like GitHub to appear more often. Or I can block Pinterest in my search results. I tried to do this in SearXNG, but this was too much of a hassle so in a way I pay kagi for convenience. I recently got a new job and will evaluate in the coming months if it is still worth the money, but right now I am satisfied. Nobody else I know would pay for a search engine, so I can understand the stance, but I am really fed up with all the advertising and enshitification so I thought why not give it a try. And yes, because it was recommended here.
RedReader also still works due to their disability stuff.
Why not just let call sounds on and the other off? I have the call sound on so I can search for my phone and hear when someone calls me. All other sounds, like notification sounds are off. Nowadays only my parents are calling me, every other person just texts me, so this works for me, but depends on your circumstances.
I’m curious, what exactly are you sending SMS for nowadays? I can’t remember sending and SMS since at least 10 years, I only receive them for some services.
The article does not say anything about LLMs or image generation, where did you get that from? They used MLP neural networks to calculate the Calabi-Yau metrics.
This is the first result when I search with Kagi, so maybe you should switch your search engine. With Google’s degrading performance you hear more and more about alternative engines, for example Qwant and Metager are based in the EU and care a bit more about your privacy than their profit in comparison to Google.
I only watch movie and game trailers on YouTube, so yes, it would not bother me if they would be bankrupt tomorrow.
Here in Germany I currently would get 1.297 gallons for $10.
Or just make it tax free like other countries already do.
You can pay them with Paysafecard you bought with cash somewhere though.
I have been looking for a job for 4 months now and have never used LinkedIn to search. I had very good experiences with Google for Jobs, where I could set up alerts for certain search terms and the radius in which I was searching, whereby you can also exclude cities if necessary. This meant I didn’t have to use another job board, I only used it for forwarding. Since the last rework, Google for Jobs almost always finds the company websites with the job advertisments directly, so I no longer have to look at job boards at all, a very pleasant experience. I used LinkedIn once to test it and all that came up was generic crap, it’s unbelievable how a site that’s supposed to be about professional life can be so sub-par at finding jobs. But soon you can play games on LinkedIn, that should solve all their problems. And just to conclude this post, I successfully found a job with this method.
The most annoying thing for me is that Firefox is reloading the current tab if I switch apps and then back to Firefox. Why is this not saved somehow and needs to reload the whole page?
I also have a steam deck, don’t like to play without buttons, so phone is a no go and the steam deck screen is too big for such pixelated games, so I got myself a RG35XX for 50€ from AliExpress and am super happy with it. It plays anything up to the PS1.
Is there a good reason they won’t get acceptance?
Which App do you use for recording?
Do you mean I can search for mastodon posts from a Lemmy app?
What does this locking do? Where I live every online vendor offers to pay by installments which addresses the issue that people could not afford the upfront price, why do the phones have to be locked in the US?
