  • Wow I would have murder on my mind if I couldn’t adjust my water heater temperature. I set mine above 140°F/60°C so that the dishes in the dishwasher actually sanitize properly. Most water heaters hang out around 50°C out of the box, and I doubt the apartment community actually bothered to increase the temp.

Why do they do this? It’s your power bill.

  • Also put foil-backed insulation over any single-paned windows you don’t use. Or do what I did and cover only half the window if you still use the room occasionally.

And if you have an HOA that bans this, placing the insulation behind the blinds instead of directly on the window will do the trick and make it difficult to see what you did, especially if you keep the blinds closed or only open them partially and angled downward.

  • For me the issue is not only the bad writing, but the over saturation of content as well.

There are just too many spinoffs and sequels now, ever since Disney bought the rights. I got bored of The Mandalorian halfway into season 1. Same goes for Obi Wan. Rogue One was great, but I didn’t bother with Solo or even Episode IX. Stopped paying attention after that.

The only Star Wars content I’m looking forward to is the remake of Knights of the Old Republic, and only because the original was among the best RPGs I’ve ever played. Couldn’t care less about anything else. Disney killed off my enthusiasm for the franchise. Maybe I just wasn’t as much of a fan as I thought I was…

  • Desktop, of course, simply for upgradability and better thermal management.

I have an AM5 system, so I’ll be able to upgrade not only my graphics card, but my CPU as well, and have a modern machine that’ll last me well into the 2030s. These days you can’t even upgrade your RAM on most laptops.

There’s also the fact that I don’t really feel the need to game on the go, and modern smartphones have fulfilled my need to have a portable computer for everything else. When I did own a gaming laptop, I paid way too much money for it, and the battery didn’t even last an hour playing something as basic as The Sims, so it had to be plugged in all the time like a desktop anyway. Within 4 years the GPU was too old to run anything at a reasonable framerate. Never buying a gaming laptop again.

  • When I first got my N64, my brother and I literally couldn’t play Mario Kart without tilting the controller. And my cousin always had to slam the controller down into his lap when doing the grapple attack as Kirby in Super Smash Bros. He claimed that mimicking the motions of Kirby made the attack do more damage.
