I chuckled when I read this :
privacy safeguards from Google
And now our partner, the NSA will demonstrate the privacy safeguards they implemented in our latest software…

Honestly, the only good advice is to consult a doctor.
If there is one thing I secure as much as possible it’s my main email address.
If you think about it that’s the most important account of all.
If you lose it, every account using this mail as recovery is also pwned.
I understand this is frustrating but I agree with others that there is not much else discord could do.
Let’s just hope it’s not both.
I don’t think so.
If they only relied on the sensor it would constantly turn on and off which is something I have never seen on that kind of faucets. I think there is always a delay before shutting down but sometimes that delay is set so low that it feels like you need to constantly activate the sensor.
Edit: clarification: What I meant is that if you just move once your hand in front of the sensor it should remain ON longer than just the time your hand was detected. I have never seen a sensor that literally activates only to the millisecond when something is moving. Even just to prevent false activation for half a second you kind of need a delay in there. If not you could have a 100ms activation that doesn’t even have the time to let the water out by opening the faucet and you create unnecessary wear on the valve system. My point being it never really makes sense in engineering to have a button or sensor direct output used. Usually you have mechanisms to prevent “bouncing” and so on. But I’m no plumber so it is just assumptions.
Is it possible that this password was really your gf’s password in the past ? It could have leaked long ago and the hacker just decided to use a previously leaked pass to be more inconspicuous.
I don’t think this whole story is so wild, it could be just coincidental. The hacker knew somehow about her DOB and thought this would be an easy password.
Rest assured a hacker wouldn’t want to use their own password or reuse even one as that could link to previous nefarious activity. So they had to set up a brand new password just to move forward. So they set up anything personal they could get their hands on.
PS: you should check haveIbeenPwned for the address of your gf.
Also as DDG is based in the US it is most likely legally bound to give your informations to any agency with a nice gag order on top of it.
I can’t imagine any serious privacy oriented business to be headquartered in the US.
The whole better privacy is true with DDG but certainly not to the extent people would like to think.
That being said DDG has decent search results and is slightly better than Google for privacy. Google is an ecosystem so every little bit you don’t give them is a success.
It’s really too bad we don’t have good private search engines…
We don’t have many big fast food chains here in France.
But MacDo seem to be indeed the only one trying to be decent.
The staff is still very much underpaid/overworked but at least they try to reduce their waste and improve the quality of the food.
Still a soulless corporation but it seems they are actually doing things pretty well.
A long time ago I used a CLI download manager that could download from different mirrors at the same time.
I think it was a tool called axel and it worked very well.
The EU can’t even pay for fediverse servers?
(•_•)
Yes, it’s a complete fail on my part.
I wanted to verify how to conjugate this verb and ended up on a classic website “Le conjugueur”.
But you can’t use that website anymore without accepting cookies. So I went to the “Le monde” conjugueur but it just didn’t show conditional present.
That being said I knew and used many times “je croirais” so I don’t know what went through my mind :(
The issue here is more the fact that “Je croirais” doesn’t exist.
It’s close to “Je croirai” which is simple futur (Futur simple).
So what you said is closer to "I will believe ".
The past tense that would work here would be :
“Je croyais que” (Imparfait).
But yeah you could say “Je croyais que” or “Je pensais que” both would be fine.

IMO “Je croirais” is related to the verb “to believe”.
“I think” would most likely be translated to “Je pense”.
A thinker is a “penseur” in French.
So basically, you could end the sentence (or even better start it) with “Je pense”.
Here I would say “Je pense que [Insert doubtful info]”.
We also have that in France.
Some peers on torrents are indeed tracking uploaders. Here you receive a letter saying which file you shared and when.
Blockbusters are the most likely to be tracked.
For me I avoided that system with alldebrid’s sort of seedbox. And direct download with alldebrid.
Here as far as I know, a datacenter IP is free to download anything and everything on torrents… Which it then uploads to DDL sites for me. And since they can’t don’t track DDL it’s safe.
Wouldn’t that be a can with a minuscule amount of minerals in it ?
Can someone explain the shape of the state lines of Idaho ?
Is it because of a geographic feature? (The squiggly side)
Maybe printer manufacturers are roleplaying as a pigment merchant from the 14th century.
That would explain the price and apparent scarcity.
So install truck brakes on the luggage then use brake cleaner. Got it.
Thank you for the advice.
I care, what do you think I could do ?
Israël is backed up by the most powerful country in the world both politically and militarily.
Many people do care, it’s just not something they can fix.
We can donate to lessen the suffering but at the end of the day, one dude in the Whitehouse could probably get a cease fire in minutes if they really wanted to.
