Thats some proper parenting right there. It sounds like you are raising an upstanding citizen.

.ml top level domains are very cheap, as well, so I think it was a happy coincidence for them to choose the .ml TLD.
They most definitely didn’t mind that .ml can stand for Marxist-Leninism, but I don’t think that was the only reason it was chosen.
I did well in data structures and algorithms in uni, but I have never had those topics come up in my 4 years of being a software developer. I’m in web development, FWIW.
So you don’t really have to know that stuff, depending on what kind of software engineering that you get into.
Gotta add a ‘daddy’ at the end for maximum effect.
I just wish they would address the US corporations doing the exact same thing, using algorithms to shape American public opinion.
It’s just hypocritical for them to go after TikTok for doing it, specifically, when Meta and Google are doing the same thing, and have been doing so for longer.
If they really cared about this negatively affecting US public opinion, they would make a blanket law about algorithm shaping and go after any corpo that breaks it. Sadly, that won’t happen, because the US corpos are in our politicians pockets.
You make a good point. We all might be being copied and deleted in our sleep every night, for all we know.
There’d be no way to know anything even happened to you as long as your memory was copied over to the new address with the rest of you. It would be just a gap in time to us, like a dreamless sleep.
I think Cuba is a better example of this, even though it is a tiny country.
The only people who are homeless in Cuba are those who choose to be. Other than that, they have managed to provide housing for all of their population even despite the harsh sanctions and lack of resources that Cuba has compared to other countries.
I am not saying Cuba is perfect or anything, but it really shows how countries like the US have the resources to solve the housing problem.
It could technically be a round about way of calling him a heterosexual female fish.
I’d never heard of them, but I looked them up, and I don’t see anything in their declaration of beliefs to suggest that they think that God is bad or evil. They just seem to have an emphasis on praying to Jesus, but they seem to have pretty standard Christian belief that God and Jesus and the Holy Ghost are all parts of the same being.
I am not sure how aligned all of the different Church of God denominations are in their beliefs, but the main website for them seems to be pretty standard Christian stuff.
Dick pic via a scanner is wild. Like, even if there was consent involved, there is no way that captures a flattering representation. Not to mention, it probably hurt.
I wish you the best of luck on dodging creeps like that, in the future.
Mid to late 1990s in elementary school computer class. The teacher had us boot up Netscape Navigator on the old Macintosh, and browse to askjeeves or excite or yahoo(I just remember it wasn’t Google yet).
I haven’t seen Chuck Palahniuk mentioned, and he was very influential to a bunch of us millenials, I imagine. He is very good at writing about the nihilism of modern times.
Fight Club is the most popular example of his novels, and its a great read. I am also really particular to, Rant:The Oral Biography of Buster. Its such a weird story, and was one of the first books to really spark my interest in reading fiction. He has a bunch of other good novels I would recommend, like Snuff, Choke, and Lullaby.
I upvoted because Vonnegut is the GOAT and most definitely wrote some bangers after 1970, but his first well known books were published in the 1960s. So, he is pretty close to OPs cutoff for modern writers, I guess.
As a POC, I would rather live in a place where racists are a little more afraid to be open about it, than a place where the KKK and Nazis are visible and tolerated. It turns out that many of the places where racists are most tolerated are places in the Bible Belt.
Yea, white supremacism is everywhere, but there are definitely levels to it.
You are right that they are no longer a friend, but that’s because they were brainwashed into thinking their friends perfectly normal identity is a result of Satan controlling them, or whatever. Christianity, and most other religions, cause more harm than good in our modern times.
We have outgrown religion’s usefulness as a species, but people are so afraid of death, and the meaningless of life, that they will deny reality to hold on to the hope of a better life after this one. Then, others will use this desperation to their own advantage, and convince their followers that being gay, trans, or just a little different, is an automatic heaven ban.
I identify as an agnostic atheist in exactly this way. We don’t know, based on our current understanding, whether there is something that ‘created’ the universe, or not. That being said, I am 99.999 percent certain that no human myth about gods has ever been remotely close to the truth of reality. The Abrahamic myths are so lacking in any sort of proof that they are obviously fiction.
To be fair, you don’t know for certain, and no one does. I guess it depends of your definition of ‘god’. No one has ever proved that there is a creator, and no one has ever proved that there isn’t a creator. I would say that, based on the facts that we know, the most scientific position to have is one of being agnostic.
I am not saying that any human description of a god, in human religions, is anywhere close to reality. I am just saying that it is very hard, and maybe impossible, to prove whether there is something that created the universe or not. At least from our perspective in the universe.
That being said, I think its fair to say that based on the facts that we do know, athiest theory is much more probable to be true than just about any other human myths about gods. It’s just that the truth is actually impossible to know, and the argument is kind of pointless until a time where we know more about the universe, if we ever get to that point.
I am pretty anti-religious and would definitely agree with you over any cultist, fwiw. I just think it’s impossible to actually ‘know’ that there is nothing created the universe. Maybe there is a creator of some kind. Maybe this is all just a product of nature. Its really impossible to know either way with our current understanding.
You are so smart. Why don’t poor people just move to a democracy? Its only requires a bunch of money and sacrifice. Poor people should just abandon all of their friends, families, and connections by spending all of that money that poor people are known to have. That way they can live in a democracy and vote not to be poor, or whatever.
Some people definitely still beat the shit out of their horses and livestock. Just go to a rodeo in the US sometime and you will see it.
