True. Sorry should have specified in the US they can just say we are letting you go and you’re done. Which as far as I’m concerned is basically a catch all statement of “we aren’t going to tell you why, we are just firing you”.

As funny as this is, I’m quite certain if somebody actually tried this in the real world they’d get fired. At will employment means they don’t even have to tell you why you got fired. They’ll just wait a couple of weeks or a month and tell you goodbye.
Considering the one lives just outside of London I figured it would be appropriate.
I’ve spoken to people from England that literally say America and mean USA.
If you say “I’m going to America” pretty much everyone on the planet knows you mean “I’m going to the United States of America”. No one cares if someone uses the short hand of “I’m going to America”.
Either an hp ink jet printer.
Or my apple watch. The apple watch step counter is just plain broken. I can say hey siri a dozen times it may or may not respond.
Yeah I’ve heard people basically say things like that.
When I have a chance I usually respond with a variation of, “ since the American Indians were here first, which of their languages should we be speaking?”
Yeah it would have nothing to do with the fact that after world war 2 no one would take in the Jews. So a Jewish state was created. Nah nothing to do with that at all.
In 1948 when Israel was formed as a nation state, the borders were set at that time. It would not have been a problem but terrorists (think Hamas and other groups like that) kept going across the border into Israel and killing and committing other crimes. Israel fought back.
As Israel fought back more cross border raids happened.
Israel puts up the iron dome ( understandable because of the missiles being launched at them).
Israel pushed their borders to try to get some breathing room. I disagree with their belief the area should be settled. Make it a DMZ ? Fine, that’s a legitimate usage. But to settle it? Now they are (in my opinion) expanding their territory and not creating a buffer zone.
But I’m not sure what the answer is.
Leave Palestine alone and allow hamas to keep doing cross border raids?
Keep responding to the individual cross border raids and attack hamas? That doesn’t solve the problem because hamas will keep coming.
Put other nations militaries on the border? Hamas will just call that an act of aggression by those countries and attack those militaries.
Hamas has a belief that all Jews everywhere should be killed. So where would the Jews even go?
Just expand their nation ( Israel) to the ocean? Ok then where do the Palestinians go?
I’m not sure what the answer is.
The state of Palestine was split to create two countries Palestine and Israel. Because historically that was the Jewish homeland. But how do we solve this current problem. I have no idea
Try Guild Wars 2.
You can play basically the entire game solo if you want. It would take you years to play all the solo material. They have mass battles to take down huge bosses. You can literally join without talking to anyone. As long as you cause at least 1 hit point of damage you get the chest at the end of the battle.
You don’t have to do those mass battles (meta events) if you don’t want to.
My guild has a discord server but no one is required to use it. You can use the in game text chat if you want. If you want you literally don’t even have to talk to anyone.
There are multi players areas, but I just spoke to someone who played for 9 years only doing player vs enemy. He just started player vs player.
If at some point you want to use discord someone will help you, but again no requirement.
Just to get the mount called skyscale (if you wanted to go nuts could be done in a week) I’ve been working on it for a couple months now. Like I said there is a TON to do in that game.
Game is pc only it’s about eleven years old.
Freedom ain’t free?
I should go.
A leader with a sense of humor. I like it
Depends on how sensitive your eyes are. There are people that will pick it up in led. More people then you realize. There was quite a thread about it in lemmy a while back.
Better quality led lights will have less of a problem, but I’ve yet to find one that fixes the issue.
Most companies put in lights that run at 5000 kelvin. So they appear to be white or even slightly blue in color. It’s hard on the eyes.
3500 or 3000 Kelvin would be more natural light.
Plus most of them have to slow of a refresh. So I see a flicker. Think a strobe light and move your hand in front of your eyes. That shudder or screen door effect that you would see. That’s what I see when I’m around led lights.
Most companies refuse to invest in better lights.
I prefer to work in the office.
Lower utility bills for me. What little I spend in gas, yeah it’s a no brainier.
Also as the chair/desk/etc wears out, the company pays for it. It’s not like they give me the difference if I work from home.
My only complaint is led lights. Companies don’t understand what they are doing when they buy the lights.
No I’m not.
And honestly I’d say no I wouldn’t want it to be.
Hold my hand by Lady Gaga.
Destiny Child (as a whole their music kicks)
Pussycat dolls another good band. I know you asked about songs but… Here we are lol
Seriously?
Damn!
Lots of good responses so far.
That’s true, I have been wrong on my natural gas.
If no ac then stay in the basement while I reasonably can. Drive with windows open. If my work has no ac then the business closes. The material we work with has to be temperature controlled.
