There’s also a lot of variance within the US. In some towns prom is huge. In my home town it wasn’t as much. Many students elected not to go at all.

Jenny Nicholson is a longtime youtuber who got her start talking about movies and other pop culture stuff. Lately she’s shifted towards (very) long-form videos about theme parks.
Here, she talks about the myriad failings of a very expensive, though lackluster star-wars themed hotel/roleplay experience that Disney was running until recently. It’s more or less a play-by-play of everything from ordering the tickets through the entire trip, hence the length.
Long story short: it was a bad trip despite being very expensive.
As in there was no shooter? That is unhinged
I didn’t even know they had a salad. And if I’m being honest, I’m petty surprised anyone would actually order it…
I would kill for this. Trying to get logseq, or any other markdown editor to play nice with an existing obsidian vault is a nightmare. And none of them are nearly as feature complete or expandable.
Flameshot pretty much already does this, though perhaps not as elegantly
what does he do all day?
He administers his system.
From moondrop?! I have some really cheap iems from them, they’re great
It’s good. The steam deck’s version of steamOS is arch based, so that should tell you a lot about its capabilities.
I’d recommend choosing an Arch-based distro like Endeavour or Garuda so you don’t have to go through the rigmarole of installing vanilla Arch.
Just wait for Windows 10’s service life to run out. That’s when I’m switching full time
Zeno’s paradox. Although in reality you’ll run into problems when you need to move the ball 1/2 the Planck distance
I could’ve sworn this was already a feature
Am I getting the Mandela effect?
I would guess you could use a regular tool for breaking a normal window, then cut through the plastic with a sturdy knife. Not great to need two tools in an emergency though, and keeping a combat knife in your glove box might raise some eyebrows.
Unfortunately, being difficult to get through is the whole point
Laminated, not just tempered. There’s a strong layer of plastic inside the window. Even if you shatter the glass you still can’t get out.
I think I can relate a bit; I applied for a job and I thought I had it in the bag. Then they told me there weren’t interested. Finding jobs, making relationship, and starting big projects is hard because failure is scary and sometimes inevitable, but we are stronger and more resilient than we usually expect. Be brave, and give life hell.
It refers to the northern part of whatever state the speaker happens to be in. It’s mostly used by New Yorkers to refer to the more rural part of New York State which is North of New York City.
Downstate is a thing, I guess, but neither upstate nor downstate are used much outside of New York in my experience.
Oh yeah. Big time. Stems from a broader social anxiety, in my case.
There would have to be some dramatic changes in the world socially and politically before I’ll feel even remotely comfortable having kids. Also my finances would need to change.
And my family also has some genetic issues I’d rather not pass on.
Adoption is an option, but I’m pretty sure I don’t even want one in the first place. When I was younger I thought having kids seemed like a sucker’s game. My opinion has softened on that a bit, but it’s still difficult to imagine actually wanting children.
