I was confused why a package manager would need to import posts from a social network.
Why name a new product the same as a very popular existing product?

They’re both part of the Hexanchiformes order, which are seven gill sharks. So the cow shark article is wrong, there are two surviving families with more than five gills.
Except for these species, classified as living fossils:
since they mostly use band 66 for large cells which has pretty crap penetration into buildings.
Huh, good to know there’s an explanation for why I was getting no signal inside my home when I was on T-Mobile. It’s the reason I switched.
Not sharing any part of my name, but last thing I ate was durian pancake
Textures and audio were always the largest part of a game. And the installation process of a game was mostly decompressing those. What changed in recent years is not as much an increase of the overall size of these assets, but less incentive to compress them in the first place. Most buyers have enough bandwidth to be able to download uncompressed assets and start playing right away instead of having to wait for a long installation step after the download is finished.
there where DVDs and and CDs had a perfect balance between storage and read speed
90% of the games didn’t need that much storage. As someone growing up in a country with no copyright laws at the time, I was used to 100-200 games on a single CD. Then my dad got an official copy of MK Trilogy and I remember thinking how wasteful it was to use an entire CD for one game (you could physically see on the surface of the CD how much data was recorded on it, and it was mostly unused space).
Then there was the rare game that used not only the entire storage, but needed multiple CDs for the whole thing (e.g. Phantasmagoria).
We could go back to games coming on flash media, which switch does still do
Switch games get online updates too though. They’re not much different from other platform games in that regard.
The overall issue being discussed is not physical media vs downloading games. It’s the fact that the games you get are not a final playable version, but still need additional downloads to make them playable (zero-day patches are a norm these days).
You mean a garbage disposal unit (insinkerator is just one brand). I’ve never seen those in the side sink, I’ve only had them in the main one.
You can get fruit out of season, but they’re definitely not fresh.
You’re saying the same thing I am. Racists usually consider their race superior and all the others inferior. And in that case the solution in the comic would just add another inferior race to the list of inferior races.
It’s not like racists are racist against a single race and if you give them a new race to be racist against they’ll stop being racist against the first one.
They’re not equivalent.
Case 1: Blue guy hates green people. Red and yellow are fine, but green people are sub-human and don’t deserve the same treatment as blue, red, and yellow. According to this comic, you just give them gray people to refocus their racism and then blue and red will both hate gray together.
Case 2: Blue guy thinks only blue people are true human. If you’re not blue you don’t deserve to be treated the same as blue. Giving them gray people to be racist against will not change anything, it’s just one more color that’s not blue.
I’m saying case 2 is what racism looks like in real life in 99% of cases. But even in case 1, I doubt the blue racist would suddenly be ok with red people just because gray are worse.
Racism is usually “my race is the best,” not “that particular race sucks.” Another race wouldn’t change anything.
Nobody is pretending. People either already know the original meme and use it to deduce the translation, or they have the minimal understanding of Spanish required to read the text.
This is the first time I see a non-English meme outside of non-English communities. And you can easily block the latter. And I wouldn’t really count this as non-English, since the main text is English and the meme text is a known meme already.
My first email address was @k.ro (a free email provider many many years ago) and many websites thought a valid second-level domain name cannot be just one letter
Somehow I find the worst thing in the story that it’s the worst infection they’ve seen in months. Not years, months!
In my area (San Francisco Bay Area) it depends on how much pedestrian traffic is expected. I live in the suburbs and, as I said, the walking light only goes on if the button is pressed. But if I go to San Francisco itself, lights are all on a timer (and there are no buttons at all).
Also, some of the traffic crossing buttons don’t make the walk cycle come sooner, but they occasionally are needed to insert a walk cycle at all, because some intersections don’t trigger a walk cycle unless the button has been pressed.
Some? In my area all the lights require a button press for a walk cycle. Even if the traffic lights turn red for the cars (e.g. in an intersection for cross-traffic), the pedestrian lights will stay red too unless the button was pressed.
Isn’t his skull adamantium? Can it be sliced in half?
