So like, you realize if you don’t want to use threads you don’t have to, right? Just because other people like it doesn’t mean you have to turn into a cranky curmudgeon.

Why turn to insults just because we have different views on things?

I’m not a fan of grass, horrible invasive monoculture that harms the native insect populations. I’ll blow some dandelions for you though if that helps you feel safer about my social media preferences.

I’ve used threads since it was released out of curiosity, and it’s so far got some of the best moderation I’ve ever seen.

No joke, it seems like they are trying their best to make it as friendly and wholesome as possible.

So many women and minorities uplifting and helping each other, it was honestly quite shocking.

On twitter, I sometimes spend a couple hours just reporting hateful people, and only one or two reports ever gets acted on, everyone else seems to get a pass to hate.

But on Threads, I’ve yet to even need to report a single post, it’s kinda eerie.

I am on Threads my guy, this is the internet you can be in multiple places at once.

Also, how am I bothering everyone else?

Are y’all not ganging up on me and my opinion? Does it bother you guys to be bullies to someone for sharing a dissenting voice to yours?

It’s easily the friendliest social media I’ve ever used, and I’ve never even had a Facebook account!

What I don’t understand is why you don’t support us using our voices to support defederation.

Because you should let us adults decide for ourselves personally what content we want to see here, not attempt to block and censor stuff JUST BECAUSE TOU DON’T LIKE IT.

Let people choose for themselves, that’s all I’ve ever been advocating for here, user choice.

If the people overwhelmingly want it defederated from their preferred servers, then do it.

I don’t ultimately care if servers decide to block it, as long as it’s done properly.

People here deserve to have that choice, that was always the point of decentralization.

Or you could just not ask your admin to block Threads for everyone else if you personally don’t want to see it.

Seems pretty straightforward which option leaves users the choice to decide for themselves what they want to see.

That way neither of us has to pretend to give a fuck what the other thinks. Hooray!
