In the east maybe, its definetly not bad at all in northern germany (Schleswig Holstein).

They also allow you to plug in a grounded Schuko Plug (Its the german one) without connecting the earth, cant get much more dangerous than that. I think the french plug also can be plugged in but it doesnt connect the earth either.
Here in Germany some McDonalds and Burger King do have self serve drink machines with unlimited drinks, but they are not that many (I would guess 10-20%). Some other fast food chains are more likely to have them, like Subway.
Edge has started doing that too, whenever I download something from my Home Assistant instance while at home I have to rightclick and say that I really want to download it.
As long as such an option is available its not too bad.
Bike infrastructure is a good and cheap way to improve our planet in many ways, but it cant be the only thing we do to stop climate change, not even close. We will still need to heat our houses and produce products without emitting more CO2.
If its a contract with unlimited employment time, like most contracts in Germany are, he cant fire you anyway, at least not without a valid reason, which could include: stealing, not doing your job, always coming late when there are meetings, stuff like that. But you can only properly be fired for that, if you do it multiple times (depending on the severity), you will get written warnings beforehand.
Another reason is mass layoffs, but they have to have a valid reason too, which doesnt include “oops we hired too many people last year”.
So under normal circumstances you will not get fired in Germany, its a different story if you only have a 2 year contract for example, then you might not get a renewal, but a company cannot indefinetly rehire you with a limited contract, they will have to give you an unlimited one, if they want to keep you for longer.
I think that little piece of plastic doesnt really make a huge impact, its not a lot of plastic and we have so many other places where we could guide manufacturers to include less plastic in packaging.
Its much more energy intensive to produce a disposable vape, they contain more plastic, the battery has to be produced and its unlikely they end up in electronics recycling, where they belong.

Yes, Strange New Worlds is the best new Star Trek imo
I cant even max out my 1gbit with steam because they use compression and my CPU just cant decompress fast enough.
1Gbit/s down and around 200mbit/s up (fiber) Costs 40€/ month in northern Germany. And no data limit of course.
Its the same with the paper straws while disposable electronic cigarettes are still allowed, which not only contain plastics, but also electronics and a rechargeable lithium cell.
All the while a reusable vape works just as well, while paper straws just suck and they even contain plastic as well.
We are always going to need some cars, even with the best public transit available.
Builders, for example, need to transport their supplies to construction sites, etc.
I think thats where EVs are going to be a solution, and in the meantime they can be a stopgap to reduce emissions while improving the infrastructure.
I can totally understand that, I think its not a wise option to buy a new ICE car, but a cheap used older car can be a good option until you are able to buy an EV.
I have an ICE car as well, because it just didnt make sense for me to buy an EV a few years ago, I couldnt afford it and there wasnt a suitable one available in Germany.
I do use my bike quite a lot, so I dont think its too bad.
I would say risk taking isnt always bad and not always illogical. But yeah, as a man I know what you mean when you talk about testosterone and risk taking.
I imagine it used to have quite a lot of benefits back when we were still sleeping in caves, shure you might die when facing a mammoth, but you could also feed the whole tribe for weeks when you succeed.
And they also shouldnt require specific browsers and a CPU that is less than 2 years old to stream content in resolutions above 720p.
Its not because its not possible, its because it lacks some bullshit copyright protection.
That window design looks like it would never seal properly. Here in Germany any window from the last 30 years or more will not let any air in when its fully closed.
The older star trek also usually had one story in each episode, and just a little bit of an overarching plot, so much of the time of the episode was actually used to tell a story.
Discovery adopted this soap-like storytelling, where there is one long story broken up into episodes. Each episode has something interesting at the start, then just a lot of filler, and when it finally starts to get interesting again the episode is over and they spoil half of the next episode with the “coming next” segment.
So instead of making something people want to watch because its interesting, they just manipulate you to watch it because they string you along.
Picard does the same, but at least they have some interesting content in the middle of an episode sometimes.
Jokes on you, some manual cars also require the brake to be pressed to start them.
Yeah, I visited sweden once, where I camped in nature. The cities were meh, but the nature was very nice.
