I agree with a lot of what you’re saying, but it’s easy to choose the better of two choices here. Debate or not, how is it even a question who to vote for when one guy is openly a fascist?

Employment is not a right? Well if we continue with a capitalist system and give most people no way to earn a living, we will need something to replace jobs for most people. We should not merely accept that it sucks and let things go to shit. We could pass laws limiting the use of AI or protecting workers, or providing basic income…
Whatever we do we had better figure it out soon, though.
But the difference I think is this isn’t just affecting a few niche industries (horses, carts and their associated care). AI is going to replace a huge, huge chunk of the workforce with no new jobs created to replace them. Even in the industrial revolution there were new jobs created - shittier jobs, but jobs. This is different.
Ok, but acting like you can’t trust any sources of info on anything is pretty destructive also. There are still some fairly reliable sources out there. Dismiss everything and you’re left with conspiracy theories.
It is stealing lots of potential work and income from professional creatives, though.
How did you gather this? it was absolutely a big factor.
i am a big new vegas fan, and follow a lot of youtubers and other parts of the fandom - I havent seen this backlash against the show this article mentions? Most NV fans are pretty happy with it that Ive seen.
Maybe this is only happening in the more toxic circles?
The hardware and corporate practises i would agree, (especially the hardware - extra shitty considering its aimed at families and kids that wears out so fast)
But I have to disagree about the games. Most of their flagship games are very good (so long as you’re a fan of the genres).
Thats nice to know they’re preserved somewhere.

I know what they mean but there arent as many fence sitters in this American election anyway.
I can see this being a bigger problem in other democracies, however, where people are still swayed by facts
“The key to these great sale numbers for our console exclusive game is that its only available on our console”
If you are into horror there are some excellent titles for ps2
Silent Hill 2, Siren, Fatal Frame, Kuon
(though theyve become a lot more popular and collectible recently)
Nintendo are about the only big publisher I would spend money on nowadays outside of indies. The enshittification is ramping up too much everywhere else.
This is a very insightful explanation, thank you
I regularly get them from family, its annoying for this reason. But its better just use the remainders as a few bucks off a regular purchase (that id make anyway).

i wonder how they reached this conclusion.
There are many many studies proving internet and social media addiction can cause depression, and internet addiction is extremely widespread especially in teenagers. Also declining mental health and depression are so widespread in young people… this study seems strange.
Sorry, I think I did misread your comment, apologies.
I do realize it’s growing in popularity, I am not suggesting anyone hide their head in the sand, though.
I was trying to say that this narrative of “were doomed” and “theyre both bad choices” feeds into this problem. Its more false equivalency, and discourages voting. I realize you weren’t saying this, and that this IS what people are saying. But I still find it gobsmacking that people are seriously saying it’s hard to choose.
