Does it have to be a sbc, or can it also be a mini pc?

They are already matching serial numbers in software to verify if a part is still the original one, so I guess the next logical step would be indeed to switch to authentication modules. With that they would allow users to change the parts on their own while still making lots of money
Do you think, that there are many communities (especially their mods) on reddit that would be openminded to migrate to lemmy?
Imho most subreddits will “sit it out”, i guess a lot of mods will more likely choose a subpar product (i guess tools for mods will still be able to access the api) than risk it to loose their “power” they have over their subs - There will always be a group of people that are willing to take over the old subs
Edit: words are hard
Native Alpha could fit your needs.
Edit: seem like i wasn’t fast enough :D
You should check out iceraven if you want even more addons. Iceraven
Yeah, that’s bad. But i guess they would still load and mirror all content from communities from those instances besides the content from users belonging to those silenced instances (but this content would then not be viewable).
So they are profiting from those communities, but they are also benefitig those communities as well, because all other communitiy members can see their content.
Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s not how it works. Beehaw users can’t read and comment on other instances, that Beehaw defederated with.
I am using Kvaesitso, which is also open source :)
I guess this will be sorted out by itself, as people will be joining the most active communities regarding a topic - at one point the least actice communities of a topic will “die” out.
NSFW subs are probably one of the most affected by the API changes - no 3PA would be able to access them. (At least from what I understand)
A developer is currently working on a drop in api to replace the existing api url in those 3rd party apps. Might be a good idea to ask the devs to add a option to let us change the api url on our own.
A quick search turned up lightnovel crawler - But I have never used it myself.
