Microsoft : “When we added all the extra ‘features’ of Win11 into our Xbox OS, we saw a severe drop in performance. So we have kept them separate.” Customers : “So you do agree the features in Win11 are detrimental to the user experience?” Microsoft : “Fuck no, those features are essential for a user. Btw, have you upgraded to Win11?”
Yo dawg, I heard you like Linux. So I built a Linux container for your Linux phone. Now you can enjoy Linux while enjoying your Linux phone.
True. I wouldn’t use them for very complicated stuff. I currently use them for “what is x?” and “how is x different from y?” kinds of question.
One advantage of using an AI is that it removes a lot of fluff that you get on blogs. However, that can change very soon when our AI overlords figure out monetization.
Solid explorer on my phone. Nautilus or any file manager on PC.
sftp each one from the other. Add the connection as a favourite. File transfer becomes a drag and drop thing. Bonus points if you create a static IP for each device.
They were really ahead of their time
AI chatbots are very good for teaching. I’ll give them that.
Yeah, the general attitude of wild witch-hunts and instant zero-to-11 rage at the slightest mention of it. Doesn’t matter what you’re actually doing with AI, the moment the mob thinks they scent blood the avalanche is rolling.
This wasn’t always the case. A lot of research on NLP uses scraped social media posts (2010’s). People never had a problem with that (at least the outrage wasn’t visible back then). The problem now is that our content is being used to create an AI product where there is zero consent taken from the end-user.

I have a license. I enjoy driving as a leisure activity.
But I hate driving to work. I just take the shuttle and enjoy listening to my podcasts. We have a decent public transport system as well, so it helps.
All artwork will be deligated to AI. Photoshop discontinued. New “CS Suite With AI Agents” released. Works only with voice prompt and eye gaze.
Rule of thumb: If your game has kernel-level anticheat, it probably won’t work. If your game doesn’t have any anticheats, there’s a 95% chance it will work on Linux.
We have to face the reality; Microsoft has got the majority of users by their balls. People don’t like M$ per say, but rather the applications, the compatibility, and ubiquitousness of their platform.
Till people get their favourite apps on their desired platform, M$ could start charging $10 a month to access Windows + malware + ads, and people would still rush to buy them.
Adobe and Microsoft Office will continue to fleece their customers. The customers will cry but they won’t do a single thing. Expect this to continue for the next 20 years.
I’ve posted the link to the Github project so people can avoid it
Always open to the highest bidder
Do hardware tokens support Linux nowadays?
I agree but this is the next best option. This essentially creates a OS-level separation between business and personal apps.
Also, the Microsoft Intune app, which checks if your device is compliant, requires a high level permission which allows it to remote wipe your device. This is in case your device has sensitive data and gets stolen/falls into the wrong hands. This is a very risky direction where we are handing off admin access of our phone to our employers.
Microsoft: Bedrock is truly cross-platform!
Linux: Heyy…
Microsoft: No, not that much cross-platform
Absolutely. They could be streaming the webpages next. Receiving webpages like a byte stream.
