Whenever I post something on the internet, I do so in English, since that’s a language most people on this world speak. I’d love it if Americans did the same with measurements when writing down recipes on the internet. I’m sorry for this offensive opinion.

This seems really cool for tiling windows managers (even Windows has tiling options, although I’m not familiar with those). That being said, I still prefer a multimonitor setup on my tiling WM of choice.
The term fascism stems from that period, from the Italian Fascist Party. It just was a slow roll during the Weimar Republic, in which violence and politics became more and more entangled until they were indistinguishable from each other.
There of course were a lot of people standing up against fascism and nazism, but it wasn’t unilaterally seen as something really bad until after the second world war.
I like having a separate desk at home I only use for work. It puts me in a different mindset and helps me separate work from life. I often have to work outside of the usual business hours, so I really need that separation.
I see, that makes sense. Thanks for the answer!
I didn’t know programming.dev censored words, that’s disappointing
Mead- and winemaking. Also Linux and home servers.
It’s almost the European Parliament and US presidential elections. Just today our national crisis centre heightened the threat level after a presumed Russian threat mail was send to Wallonian schools yesterday.
Our QA manager is one of the founders of our company, so the work his team does is amazing. Doesn’t take away I get a heart attack any time I get a message from him…
Every systemd-based distro should look like that indeed
Labour is expensive
I didn’t think about that, but English isn’t my first language and there are studies out there that say that you think different in languages that aren’t your mothertongue. That being said, my English meetings with my British and my Eastern European colleagues still feel a lot more normal than meetings with American colleagues
Dealing with American colleagues feels really weird sometimes. They’re either very happy or really not amused.
It’s disturbing how common this mindset already is.
It’s always worked. “Divide et impera” is a Latin phrase for a reason, it was how Philippus II of Macedonia described how he conquered a large part of current Greece.
It’s crazy to see how the city centre of Ghent (Belgium) changed when they banned non-emergency cars from people not living/working in the centre. It went from some huge carparks with a few people walking between them to large squares filled with people enjoying the city and people who live here.
Every day I bike besides the Coupure channel to the train station and in the city I work in, I walk to the office besides the Dender river. Good infrastructure is basically keeping my mental health afloat.
All social media that came after IRC should die. \s
