Rock solid.
Rock solid.
I’ve been using DDG exclusively for years now and every now and then I feel it doesn’t give me what I seek and I try Google and it doesn’t find shit either.
People always say that Google results are still superior but I believe that’s only the case as long as you’re in the bubble they create based on your profile and you’re looking for your interests and like-minded opinions.
Upper-case T; different matter. You’re evoking a dystopian nightmare that reduces humanity to educationally subnormal homunculi with no prospects, no future and various unalive things I’d use a spoiler tag and trigger warning for if I knew how to do that.
So what? You’re just describing what Zuck has been working towards since he started that shit at college.
Good for you. But since the subreddit is the explicit topic or this thread the right thing to do would have been to not post a reply at all.
I’m absolutely with you. Boiling frog and all. 10 years ago nobody would have believed that you’d require an online account to log into your local machine.
As soon as it’s viable from a business point of view (as in people will swallow it), it will be cloud only.
Are apps site-exclusive or federated as well? Will I be able to use a Lemmy app with a kbin account?
I can’t play it due to ideological reasons (can we please not post tiktok links?)
I’ve had the suspicion about my comments ever since I’ve posted kbin ads (only twice). Timely comments fitting the thread and zero reactions while the one I replied to gets 1000s of upvotes.
Oh well, it’ll be over next week anyway. Prepare for the wave!
Rarely, if ever. But if I watch something local it is usually news, game shows or something like that, not big screen productions that usually suffer from this “loud sound, silent speech” annoyance.
Unless it’s some rural dialect. Then all bets are off. But then I have the same problem with many English dialects.
As a non-native English speaker it’s quite reassuring that native speakers (I assume?) don’t understand everything either.
It’s really hard to code while fucking.
Many people just have phones now.
And yet, Linux tools are even older and the kernel better written than either Windows or OSX.
Microblogging services like Mastodon, YouTube-like Video sharing through Peertube and even self-hosted streaming with OwnCast.
On kbin I only seem to see federated lemmy threads though. Are those mentioned yet to be added or how does that work?
Lucky me, I guess, since I use a masked email address that looks fake too (anon addy). I really dislike to give my email address when testing Reddit alternatives.
What, you’re not looking forward to get a corp chip implanted into your brain by the world’s most infamous shitposter?
